Band leader Royden Ainsworth has a great Glen Miller bracket ready for everyone to enjoy on Sunday the 12th of March The Northern Rivers Big Band plays many of the very best arrangements by the best big bands including Duke Ellington Orchestra, Count Basie Big Band, Glen Miller Big Band, Benny Goodman Big Band, etc. In the days when jazz was the most popular music, the Stan Chilcott Orchestra was the number one band in the Northern Rivers for many decades. In the 1970’s and 1980’s many of the original members formed the Northern Rivers Big Band. In 2003 some of the original members reformed the Northern Rivers Big Band and we have continued to build on that great tradition of powerful Swing, Latin, Jive, Blues, New Orleans and Ballads performed with true dedication to producing the original, wonderful ensemble sound. An afternoon spent foot-tapping or dancing along with the NRBB is guaranteed to be a wonderful, enjoyable experience.
